Race-Line Competitions is the first lottery based website I have designed and built. The website is built with WordPress, WooCommerce and a few necessary lottery plugins that change the functionality of WooCommerce from it’s traditional ecommerce store selling products, to the new lottery and competition based platform. From here the site admin can run unlimited lotteries with once in a lifetime prizes on offer.
How it works?
Customers purchase tickets for a chance to win prizes at a fraction of the cost, each ticket purchased is assigned a random draw number for that lottery. Once the lottery ends, the site admin enters all the draw numbers into a random number generator, this then picks the winning draw number. Before a customer can buy tickets for the competition they must firstly provide the correct answer to a skilled based question, only after answering correctly can they proceed to checkout. This extra functionality is provided by an additional lottery addon plugin.
Website design brief
Race-Line Competitions contacted me during the middle of 2020 and asked if could help launch their new lottery website. They already had a strong idea of what type of prizes they wanted to sell (cars, racing, motor equipment, etc) and market to (males, 25-50), but needed a design and brand to pull everything together and create an exciting experience for their customers. The client wanted to go with something that was dark, sexy and used a bright colour running throughout, similar to a colour found on a supercar. Before I started on the development of the website using WordPress and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) I designed every page of the website the client needed and asked them to approve each one. I have shared some of the final page designs below.
