P4 Technology is a company that started up during the darkest days of the Covid-19 pandemic. The problems caused by the spreading virus inspired them to identify a multi layered protection solution, made up of numerous complimentary products and components. Their joint vision; to support the re-opening of the UK and beyond, protecting life, communities and economies.
Design
P4 Technology hired me to create their product labels and website. They wanted a website that would educate their audience, promote the companies efforts and values, and offer an online shop for customers to purchase protective products. They wanted to create one clear identity that could be easily recognised across all their products and marketing channels. The timeline they gave me to get a live version of their website was 1 week.
I would always prefer to design a website using Adobe Illustrator or XD before building it, but because I was working to a very tight deadline I skipped the design stage and moved straight into development. This meant I was designing the required elements and features as I built them into a working draft of the website.
The main requirements and specifications from the client were to create something that felt modern, clean and exciting. A website that would feel positive and uplifting and offer hope and solutions in a time where people were feeling confused, scared and unsure. This message needed to be complimented with the clients brand and identity. It needed to be strong, consistent and clear throughout the entire website.
Development
The website was built with WordPress using the WooCommerce store plugin to create the shop, checkout and payment pages. I used Elementor page builder to both design and build working, functioning pages straight into the website. This helped save on time but meant I was not able to have a 1-2-1 dialogue with the client to discuss creative decisions, a valuable conversation I would always request during the design process. I created a website design theme that took influence from the clients brand colours, fonts and imagery. I produced a finished working version of the website in 1 week and offered my services to help maintain and update their website since launching.
